Red, White, & Blue Strawberries

Memorial Day weekend was filled with lots of good food either made by me or my fabulous friends. On actual Memorial Day, I scrolled through my "Food Porn" board on Pinterest and decide to make recently pinned patriotic red, white, and blue strawberries for a relaxing/recovering day on Geist Lake. Tyler and I knocked these babies out in 8 minutes or so, which allowed time chillin on the boat while they chilled in the fridge. The only problem I ran into was not having enough! These festive strawberries were devoured in a bout 2 minutes. They received rave reviews {I expected nothing less from this group} and the best feedback I can offer is from my friend Ray enthusiastically stating, "These little blue crunchy things are FIRE!" So, next month for 4th of July, I highly recommend making some a lot of patriotic strawberries for your friends and family. They're sure to receive fire reviews.

{Boyfriend says, "get it."}

Adapted from Three Sisters Cafe

Ingredients: 1 lb strawberries, 3/4 Cup Candiquick vanilla candy coating or white chocolate, 1 small jar of blue sprinkles.

Directions:
  1. Wash your strawberries and pat dry. Place blue sprinkles in a small bowl.
  2. In a microwavable measuring cup or small bowl, melt 5 squares {or 3/4 Cup} of the vanilla candy coating for 1 minute. Give it a quick stir, then continue to microwave for 30 second intervals until all the candy is melted.
  3. Dip the lower 3/4 of the strawberry into the meted candy coating. Immediately following, dip the lowest 1/3 into the blue sprinkles. Spoon on the sprinkles if necessary. Place the strawberry onto a lined baking sheet; repeat until all berries have been used.
  4. Place the baking sheet in the fridge for 20 minutes so the candy coating will set.
  5. Serve and enjoy like boyfriend is above!
